Attorney John Bell
John Bell grew up in a working-class neighborhood south of Detroit. He was the first person in his family to graduate from college. His parents taught him the value of a hard day’s work and instilled a belief that the value of a person is not measured by the size of their paycheck but in what they contribute to their family and community. John is committed to fighting for working people of moderate means like the people he grew up with.
John moved to South Carolina in 2000 to attend law school and has lived in Greenville since 2004. Over the years, John has served the Greenville community by working as a United Way Loaned Executive, president of his Kiwanis club, and a volunteer mediator at the Upstate Mediation Center.

He began his legal career at a mid-size corporate defense law firm representing some of the nation’s biggest corporations in civil litigation. He then owned a small general practice with two partners and primarily represented individuals in family law, personal injury, and social security matters. He has maintained a solo practice since 2011 representing individuals in family law cases and serving as a mediator and Guardian ad Litem. He has also been a full-time professor in the paralegal program at Greenville Technical College since 2011, teaching classes in family law, legal ethics, and civil litigation.
